Music has always been a big part of my balance. Growing up my father would play music of all genres to me daily. I listened to a lot of Latin music, world, Haitian and American popular music. I remember the family sitting around the living room to watch me sing along and dancing to artists like Michael Jackson, Bob Marley and many others.
At 9 years old, I took interest in playing the keyboard by inspiration of Sweet Micky. My parents felt if I wanted to play the keys, I needed to do it the right way. The entire family enrolled in classical piano lessons for a few years. At the age of 14, I decided to pickup the guitar since it was an instrument, I could carry with me all the times. At the age of 19, I played in a family and friends’ band, where we mainly performed at charity events, College cultural events, and private parties. In the early 2Ks, I joined my old high school buddies, Jeff and Gaetan, in their band “Ti Doz” as background singer before shifting to the management side. I also worked on the management side of their later project “Fahrenheit”.
To jump closer to the present, a couple of years ago, a group of friends, Jeff, Gaetan, Karlo, Regi and I, decided to get together and delight friends and family with some great reminiscent sounds for the end of year. This gave birth to the Kool movement. The Kool project falls well into my alley: stress free music for the love of music. There will be no boundaries of genres, or who we collaborate with. A musical network that just feels good. I’m looking forward to sharing this feeling we reciprocate as a group with all of you.
